was there this one person who have come and changed your life ? Who awoke something dormant within you and have changed the trajectory of your life...

Who was that person, can you even recall them? If they weren't your spouse or close friend, but was this particular person who passed by one summer... I do have a person to recall from last summer. That man change something in me. And I in him. We were friends, but not even that. Companions, for coffee, for moonrise, ..is the only one person in my life I have told about all the crazy things that have happened. Because he was the only one capable to listen somehow? He was very tall, black, Jamaican and Swedish.

Do you have a person to remember ? how do you feel towards them..? This strange figure passing through your life....

My husband. Because of his love, I learned to find all parts of me acceptable.

@PatientlyWaiting25 oh what an amazing experience this sounds.
Yes. I met him here and we became close in real life. He had experienced a lot of loss as well. He knew more than anyone I'd ever met and the way he broke things down was healing. Just an amazing person. My son loved him too. We had some fun adventures and it was just so nice to be around someone who was consistently listening and respecting. I miss him. I think of him every single day.

@EldritchFox oh and where is he now ? he was a brief passage through your life? Sounds good, some people come for sometime, they give us what they have and they fulfill the mission <3

I too miss this person, he changed his number and I have lost contact few months after we went separate ways
@Boeing He passed away. He changed me forever and I am a better person because of him. Tbh I didn't deserve him, I'm just a very lucky person that he picked me to get closer.

Yes, some people are just a season in our lives, but a very good one.

That person would be a man I came to call Papa Larry. My mother had died, and I spiraled out of control. I started working in an assisted living facility. I was the second man on an all-female staff. They made sure I knew I was outnumbered in many ways.

One day, they came to me and said, "You can have the angry old man, Larry, in apartment 14. From that day on, I talked with him after putting him to bed. I shared that my Father and I never got along. I shared my past. He shared his. He made sure I saw I was worth something. He believed in me when I didn't even believe in myself.

My last time visiting with him. He told me, "I am proud of you. You are a good man. The next day, they said he was in the hospital. Then my administrative nurse told me he'd passed. I got to go to his funeral, and a part of me still feels like I failed him.

Because of him, I stopped letting people bully me or tell me I was weak because I cry. Which I'm doing now.

@WanderingHelplessly aw.. it's such an empowering story indeed. Sometimes we fail to see our blessings until later on, where we have gained distance. How you found that job after her death and how you met this man, as if your mother's soul have guided you there, to find healing and empower yourself.
One of those rare stories.
Crying is getting the poison out of the system, as an older friend of mine used to say. It's a natural mechanism of release. It's healthy actually..

@Boeing It really is. I used to hold it in. I remember when "The Last Skywalker" was out and Jimmy Kimmel had the cast on. I was working, and Larry called the med tech, saying he needed me. I ran in and said, "Larry, are you okay. He said, "Shhh, Jimmy Kimmel is on. Sit down." When I saw the cast, I started crying because he said, "Sit and watch this with me and explain Star Wars"

Just a side note. After Larry passed, I quit that job. I couldn't go on without Larry.

@Boeing She came into my life when I needed such a friend as did a few others and sadly they have all gone now.
