The most useful lie to throw away...
That being right was all that mattered.
The most depressing but healthy to remove...
That I was loved by my parents.
Both pieces of advice from my same disowned father.

@twistedrope that is really sad. I'm so sorry. That never should happen. You are loved. You may not know or realize that but you are loved more than you will ever know, by your real father, who made you, in heaven. Maybe that doesn't mean much now and that's okay because you are entitled to your own beliefs but I'm just wanting you to know that you are loved by many, including strangers like myself. Everyone deserves to be loved. I bet you don't know that God loves you so much that he has every hair on your head numbered. And he knows exactly every time you lose one. Not trying to preach. I'm just telling you. You need to know that. To him you are more precious than you will ever know, to him.

@LadyGrace I had to correct sorry as it was just... I acknowledge I had no parental love in my life. It was a healthy lie to remove. If I believed my parents loved me, I would perpuate the same coercive controlling neglectful abuse I was subjected to.
But no, I love and give love freely to those of whom I care. And I mean actual love like accepting someone for who they are, letting someone else take the wheel from time to time and being vulnerable and supportive. Easy and practiced at this point.
It is a shame some parents do not love their children. But I am at peace with it. And you are right, everyone does deserve to be loved.

I was special.
@Iwillwait But you ARE, dear friend. You ARE. Are and were special enough for the God of this whole universe to notice you and love you more than you'll ever know.
Here's where your “special” really comes from:
I’m so sorry you’re feeling that way, friend. I hear you.
You are still special. Not because of what your parents said, not because of what the world says today — but because of what God says.
He determines the number of the stars and calls them all by name. Psalm 147:4
If He takes time to name every single star, don’t you think He knows your name too? He DOES. He knows every intricate part of you because he made you and he still loves you, whether you think you're good or bad, God loves you anyway. He loves us all unconditionally. And he made you because he loves you and wanted you in this world.
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you. Jeremiah 1:5
You didn’t have to earn being special. You just ARE.
He made you on purpose, with your sweet heart, your laugh, your story. Nothing about today changes that. You are, and we're, wanted.
Feelings come and go, but God’s truth doesn’t.
When you don’t feel special, remember: The King of the universe calls you His child. That makes you the most special of all.
I’m praying for you today. You matter. You’re seen. And you’re loved — by Him, and by people here like me, too.
I see you and you're so sweet and kind. And if I, a stranger, can see all this in you and love you, how much more, God loves you.
“Lord, let him feel Your hug through my words.” Let him know how much you love him and may he feel Your love, forever more."

Religion
@JeNeSaisPas @kodiac
I am so sorry if religion hurt you. I really am. No one should use that to make you feel small or "less than". Jesus loves us all the same, irregardless of the mistakes we've made. He's not looking at what we did right or wrong. He's looking at us as his precious creation and child whom he loves more than words could ever say. He never expected us to be perfect and it's a good thing, because none of us could achieve that. He never said I love you if......
He said I love you unconditionally, irregardless of our mistakes or shortcomings.
For me it stopped being about religion, when I met Jesus.
I think of it like a lighthouse. Churches and groups are just lights on the shore.
But Jesus is the Lighthouse. He is the one who gently draws the boat home to safety.
He said, "The truth will set you free, and I am the way, the truth, and the life. He also said to search your heart and He will meet you there. No pressure. No rules. Just love.
Whatever you believe, you are worthy and you deserve love. Always. And if you ever want to talk about Him, I am here. No strings attached. No preaching. No pressure.
He saved a sinner like me, so I know He can save anyone, and the Bible confirms that. He's not looking for perfection. He's looking for a heart who is open to His invitation of love and understanding, and who will allow him to lead them safely home to His loving, welcoming arms.

@kodiac I'm sure it was of course it didn't.
To love man more deeply than ever before to. I was fighting fear to strive for a perfect love for a mere man...I didn't know that it turned out to be idolatry... He was elusive I was mislead by a group of undercovers one of which was the decoy and the others who seemed like they were friends... I lived out the Song Of Solomon, then I read the ending about how love is as unyeilding as the grave or Sheol, no waters can quench it!!! I became deathly schizophrenic... I didn't know!!! Now God Himself His Love is better than wine!!! He is my innocent one, not a mere man!! When He reaches out for me I will come!!! I will not miss my opportunity with God when I seek I shall find! God is the Love of my life, not mere man! That is why I couldn't face the music (secular music) ick! It reminded me of how I died trying, how I sold my soul by vying for love by being nice!!! How could secular musicians encourage others to do the same like the blind leading the blind??? Ick!!! That's when I turned to Christian music!! It was all that I could bare! It was what my soul needed, to see the Light! To learn the truth...

Santa Claus!
@uncalled4 Yep. Me too. That hurt me, too, because I think of all the times and all those years I could have been learning about and loving Jesus who's real, instead of some fantasy. I would have been so much closer and I believe my faith would have been so much stronger, if I had been told about Jesus from the very first. But somehow even as little as I was I knew there was a God and I loved him even then when I got old enough to really start thinking about things.

That money don't grow on trees. Apparently they do. They do grow upon our inner garden trees, once we are aligned with our true purpose in this life.

"If you are always nice to other people, they will be nice to you". In reality, the world is an ugly place and you need to have your guard up because people can be arseholes. Feeding into that is "work hard and always do your best and you will get promoted" that's not always true unfortunately. Sometimes those arseholes are your boss and sometimes they just take the piss.

It wasn't a lie, it was a secret kept... I found out I was adopted when I was 45, after my mother passed. I always thought my parents were my parents. I could have gone to my grave not knowing, but sometimes cousins could have big mouths and disrespect the family's wishes.
My parents will always be my parents, but it explained a lot of things when I think back on how different people in the family treated me.

@LadyGrace Thank you for saying that. But I was being Dumb and dumber for past whole week.
Every evening I was going out with my friend and I was hoping we would party but everytime he would take me to a shop and buy something for his home. And I just felt out of place to just walk to the shop and walk back home.
Yesterday I broke this cycle

@DanielsASJ there's nothing wrong with going up with friends but I can imagine I would have felt out of place as well.

That everyone who bullies you, belittles you, etc., just has a hard time expressing that they like you is one.
If you pray that things will work out. When you are older and start working hard, it will be rewarded.
