Lesson of the day: always have a snack with you if walking a far distance

I typically walk forty minutes but today I was going to push myself to an hour.. about a half hour in, I'm sitting on a rock for two minutes. This lady walked near me and said Hi! and begin talking about how her back was debilitating. I felt badly and shared my dad's experience with a herniated disc.
We talked a half hour and as I go to stand up from a little rock edge, my legs started getting so shaky. Ughhh it really took me by surprise and I'm SO SO GLAD I had a half bag spice drops with me. I guess I really hadn't eaten much since lunch so those eight spice drops saved me on my ten minutes walk back. My legs felt so weak and that sugar truly helped. Lesson learned, have a little snack on you if you're walking a longer session, was so grateful.

Cool you got to talk to a stranger for a half hour.

See, you can do it!

@JoyfulSilence It was a woman who came up to me so I was ok. But if there's any pressure like my old friend wanting to meet, I get panic. And if it was a guy that came up to me, I'd have been nervous lol..😑

@Baybreeze

Don't give up hope! And even with the guys just think of them like another stranger woman who you probably will never see again. Even if it goes nowhere it is practice!

I'm not sure what spice drops are but I'm glad they were along for the stroll to help sugar you up,
Yeah,I gotta watch it if I don't eat or hydrate when I'm active,I tend to push myself way too hard when I'm working or on an achieving binge. Just today I was about to fall to pieces and I was like-"oh,umm duh,I really need to eat..." so I did. And survived a somewhat trying day.
But often I will tuck a few cookies or chocolates into a pocket and forget I got 'em and then a few days later I got a jacket full of crumbs that needs to hit the laundry or a stack of notes and numbers welded to a twix or somethin' so I guess I should maybe refine my methods. Many of my music gear bags have cough drops in various unsavory states, but at least I'm improving there...thanks for the reminder.
When I go hiking I usually bring a few apples or a banana. Maybe a Clif bar

Oat protein bars are a good carry. Trek are my favourites 😋

I am diabetic 2 on meds, so I carry snacks in my purse, just in case.

Nice pic by the way

@Justmeraeagain My sister is diabetic so we take a small tote of snacks whenever we go go out.. and that's very kind, ty Rae!

More important is to have water.
Baybreeze · 41-45, F
@zonavar68 I was a bit dehydrated so I agree, waters very important. But it wouldn't have helped the weak shaky feeling, I believe my blood sugar was low. It doesn't typically do that but I can't even imagine how difficult it would have been getting back without popping those drops .
It might be nothing, but get a check up to ensure there are no underlying health issues, like diabetes
