Dancing at the drum circles for a year helped me decenter men.

I am still not quite there yet.. But being in front of hundreds of ppl where at times it was just me dancing, it rly helped me realize that I actually like being perceived, not consumed.

The drum circles gave me a safe space to experience that and not have to go home with any man. I can’t wait to join the drums here when it warms up.

What’s that like? The whole drum circle thing I mean. What goes on there? Where is it done?

There are subcultures/communities of them everywhere. In FL, where I rly participated, they are done at beaches and parks. Ppl gather a few times a week and play drums and whoever wants to dances.

And then during the full moon, we do a 🩸 sacrifice. 🥹 @Straylight

I went to a bonfire with some friends and we danced naked around it under the moon. So… similar? 🤷‍♀
