I don't know

I wonder if anyone will read this. It's not a suicide note or anything, I just need to record this information somewhere to get it out of my head and this is easier to store and retrieve should I need it.

A Soviet Heavy Tank Regiment consisted of a command tank (an IS-2 in late war, a KV in mid war, or a Churchill in an Independent Heavy Tank Regiment) and four companies of 5 tanks or self-propelled guns each.

A Soviet Tank Battalion consisted of a command tank (usually a T-34 for T-34 or SU-85/100 units, or a T-70 for SU-76 battalions, but I'm not interested in those) and 3 companies of up to 10 tanks each. In 1942 these companies would be one of T-34s and two of T-70s due to the USSR being on the back foot still and not yet at full production capacity like they would be later on. In the later years of the war they'd be all T-34 companies.

My favourite ones are T-34/85 battalions because the turret looks better - they might be my favourite tank of the war apart from the Sherman Easy Eight because of the shape and the 76mm gun (or maybe it's the Jumbo...)
