After my divorce, I actually dated a man named Bob, who wanted a physical relationship, and I denied him...and even stopped our relationship because I had a very strong premonition that he was going to die very soon.
It hurt me horribly...but I knew it would hurt even more...and might even destroy me...if I got really close to him and THEN he died.
I had just escaped from an abusive 25 year marriage at the time...and I was on very rocky ground, emotionally.
Bob died 3 months later. He was a diabetic, and developed a blood clot in his leg. He died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital of a pulmonary embolism.
