The childhood you. You think it's gonna disappear as an adult but you're left dealing with your childhood more than you had to during your actual childhood. Generally speaking of course.

@HijabaDabbaDoo Yes, I hadn't thought of this; you make a very valid point.
Well some do, but I don't feel my parents really prepared me for life. I needed a mentor so badly. However, I lived and learned and made it through.

Taxes. We're told that we will work to earn money but nobody prepares us for how much of it will be taken away from us again by the state. That earning more doesn't mean your personal profit. You earn more just to be plucked like a chicken.

@HowtoDestroyAngels Every child should be taught this through giving them candies and then taking a certain percentage of them back.

robbie2499 · 61-69, F
@Cigarguy How are you dealing with these issues?
Cigarguy · 41-45, M
@robbie2499 took me years but I finally have a partner and family that supports me, a Therapist I trust and the right meds. I still have a long way to go but I'm getting there
How overwhelming and cumbersome it really can be. It's really a LOT 😔

The swiftness of technological change. No-one could have foreseen in the 1960s just how much connectivity, personal tech and the rise of the mega international corporations would change our work and family life.

@2ndtimeguy Growing old is mental, keeping the mind young helps survival.
