@Julien so my father wanted to name me after his mother. Bertha….let that marinate.
My mom looked at him as if he just slapped her in the face and said “we’re not naming my daughter that”
My clueless father said “what’s wrong with it, I don’t understand”
My mother frustrated but willing to compromise goes “if it makes you feel any better, she can take your mother’s name but it’ll be her middle name. Not Bertha. Bertha is just disrespectful”
My father goes “whatever” not giving much thought to my future or how I would feel, just glad he didn’t have to put much effort into this decision.
