I often think

That I would gladly marry a person outside of the US just so I can emigrate and expatriate.

Anyone from Dcotland, Ireland, England, Denmark, New Zealand interested in a mail order bride?

I can understand the thinking.

But anywhere different just attracts different problems....especially if you're the foreigner.

Maybe that's the ultimate gameplan from our current heads of state.

Get everyone on countless databases and then limit their work visas and say they can't renew for a year.
Then refuse them the chance to return home until they can say they have a job to go to.

An entire western world of nomads.

@Picklebobble2 This is true. A friend and I talked about the different places we could move to that would be better than America and we determined that all of them have issues. No place is a utopia.

@FoxyGoddess I keep telling my kids, get out ! Find somewhere you can raise your children happily.
Give yourself the chance to breathe cleaner air. Eat better food. Live to work not work to live.
As much as I've been fond of the UK at times, at least Ireland and Denmark would still be in the EU, which might be beneficial, and more so in the case of Ireland you wouldn't need to learn a new language (but Denmark also seems to be among the European countries which the highest percentage of people who speak some English alongside their native tongue).

But don't marry just for that, or you may be miserable even in geography ever so slightly more closely resembling a sane utopia.

I wish I had been born in southern Europe, I would be making some acclaimed syrah and sangiovese by now, I just know it lol.

I’m headed to Asia in less than two weeks

I’m kinda scouting what would life be there if I choose to move there in my later years
For one, it’s super inexpensive

@Ferric67 A friend of mine moved to Thailand ages ago. He absolutely loves it there

@FoxyGoddess I’ll be spending my final week on Penang, which is an island just off of the southern west coast of Thailand
I wanna come too. Can I be the family pet?

I don't think I offer a whole lot being from England unless you like history.

I’m older and not wealthy enough but if I were younger I would leave the USA and never come back.

I haven’t completely ruled out the idea..
And what's Canada, chopped liver? 🧐
FoxyGoddess · 51-55, F
@ThePatientAnarchist Canada allows US citizens, but we have to work on farms. I'm not sure I want to move to a country that treats immigrants on a level just a fraction higher than the US.
@FoxyGoddess where did you hear that? I know many US immigrants here working in professions and other jobs.

@ThePatientAnarchist Rumor mill, of course. Also, the only skill I ha e that meets the "Professional Skill" needs of a country is welding. But I really can't physically do that anymore.
Avoiding Australians for any particular reason, like idk, Keith Urban for example?!
