Being alone and realising that I don't know how to do things but there's nobody to ask for help.

@PatientlyWaiting25 What kind of things do you need help with?
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@MrAverage1965 "man things" I had no idea all the things my husband did to keep our lives running smoothly. I just looked after the kids, cooked, shopped and cleaned.
@PatientlyWaiting25 that’s not a “just” at all.
MrAverage1965 · 61-69, M
@PatientlyWaiting25 it sounds like you did more than your fair share.
PatientlyWaiting25 · 46-50, F
@MrAverage1965 all financial stuff, bills etc he did. I had to learn how to budget and then all the gardening, then things keep breaking like the toilet flushing things inside the cistern. Light bulbs too. It makes my head explode sometimes. Things you take for granted.

@PatientlyWaiting25 neither of my daughter's married men who are handy around the house. One became pretty good at those repairs. With the availability of YouTube though you can learn to do most repairs.

@samueltyler2 YouTube is so amazing. You can learn almost anything.

@DrawntoaDistance truly. Years ago I used the books printed by time life, they were pretty good, but nothing compared to seeing videos of the actual repair being done.
