How can one decide if they're a good person deserving of peace...

...when they have an experience of their own doing that they believe is unspeakable? Something that makes them question their own innocence.

I know it's a loaded question but that's all I'm comfortable sharing.

Two answers actually-
Deserving of Peace, and Being at peace.
To deserve peace, the warrant you subject yourself under is it facts or was it a subject matter punishable by law?
Being at peace with yourself, are you regretting your article of attitudes or actions...
You know right from wrong.
You acknowledge the infractions.
You determin is it morally or law abiding accepted?
Only YOU know your reasons, consequences will be rendered. If it bothers you that what was said or done harmed others, make ammends.
If it causes u harm, and u dont regrets it, then carry on, but if it bothers you, then make a reconciliation.
I only offer advice, what u do with it is up to you.
@CloudAngel80 Thank you. Not much to say at the moment but I appreciate your input.
@CloudAngel80 Also I did nothing illegal but I don't find that part important.

Speaking from my own experience. I had to forgive myself and realize that i'm human and i learned from my mistakes. Ive punished myself enough that i was able to move on and from there i just decided to do better, to be better.

We don't decide if we are good people. Other people do according to how we act.
@Infamous607 They also don't know our past.
