Are we ever not hallucinating?

Girl I got so sick & dehydrated one time I was having some serious concerns about my mind. I remember being on my knees on the floor scrunching up the rug & walking through the living room, all I could see was this crazy pattern in front of me, tried to change into some dry clothes (my gown was drenched with sweat) so that I could get my son to take me to the hospital but couldn't figure out how to get into my dry clothes 😥

@Tumbleweed Delirium is a hell of a drug.
Tumbleweed · F
@GeistInTheMachine It was terrible. Even now if I see a certain pattern on a shirt or something, it makes me feel weird.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@Tumbleweed I bet. That hallucination PTSD is no joke.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
No. Reality is a controlled illusion layered upon a simulation and we're not even in base reality so it's all moot. The human brain is a sensitive chemical cocktail and our bodies produce an electromagnetic field that is always in flux. One small variable like an influx of DMT can make the whole thing go haywire.

0/10 - Would not recommend, would not do again.

@AthrillatheHunt I don't agree to it.

Also, modern time keeping started with the industrial revolution and before that it wasn't as structured.

Beyond that, we don't consider the time to be the same in different time zones.

And what about daylights savings time? Made up. It's all fungible.

Individual human beings also experience the passage of time differently depending on multiple factors.

People have also experienced lost time.

Some countries have calendar systems different from our own, too.
AthrillatheHunt · 56-60, M
@GeistInTheMachine that puts you outside of the illusion ……and outside of society. Daylight savings is a temporary manipulation of the illusion , that is then corrected .
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@AthrillatheHunt Thank Yeshua for that. Ah, but there is nothing to correct because time doesn't exist.
Yes, the first 30 seconds upon waking up.
But, after the cobwebs clear, I am completely overwhelmed by thoughts, distractions and feelings that typically wind up being completely inaccurate.... am I the only one??

Then I switch off CNN and my clarity returns

Reality is just an agreed upon mass hallucination

I woke up with a minor sleep paralysis hallucination last night. 😑 I'd swear I heard the nearby village broadcasting which could only mean something negative. But I thought: "okay, if there was something going on, I'd hear sirens."
Hmmm...

If you mean that our perceptions are imperfect and filled-in / giving form by borrowing from our (imperfect) memories and our store of imperfect experiences and imperfect biases, etc.--then I have to agree.

when in a detached, meditative state, i would say. or smth akin to that anyway

though modernity might argue that that exact behaviour classifies as loopy

@thrash Try Zasim. That should relax you.

You tripp'n. 😵‍💫

If that proves to be the case I’d like to requisition my mind for some improved scenery and exposition.

Interesting question. Watching, listening to the news, I feel as if I am in a bad dream and need to wake up
peterlee · M
Drink plenty of water, that should do the trick. It did when I had a kidney infection and was delerious.

I keep hoping to awaken from the political nightmares around the world and in my country.

When I’m in agony I’m pretty sure it’s reality
AuRevoir · 36-40, M
I prefer the term “daydreaming”
FreestyleArt · 36-40, M
I do that all the time
val70 · 56-60
