Something tells me our level of compassion is linked to our experience with being treated unfairly.

Or lack thereof.

I don't believe goodness is innate.

I sometimes think that one of the reasons some people troll so horribly,
is because they have been treated unfairly
and they think "may aswell actually do something wrong, since people treat me like dirt anyway,
it'll feel good to actually deserve it."

I mean it's possible, not saying it's true. It's just a theory right now.

I have seen empathetic babies and toddlers.

But it takes more than compassion to define goodness. It is a choice.
@Miram What empathy have you seen in babies besides immitation and mirroring?

The more unfairly you are treated, the more value you should place upon compassion and empathy.
