I feel that The Practice and Boston Legal, ruined cop/crime movies for me.

I'm watching The Negotiator, at present and can't help but notice if Samuel L Jacksons character had Alan Shore as his attorney there wouldn't of been a movie...

Well, look at how many people would have been helped to do better, etc., if every local sheriff/police chief were like Sheriff Andy Taylor?

If every person in the entire enterprise of law/law enforcement were the best of what we have read and seen--investigators like the Holmes & Watson of Elementary, J. Fletcher of Murder, She Wrote, or the original Thomas Magnum of Magnum, P.I.; attorneys like Ben Matlock of Matlock, or Perry Mason of the eponymous program; judges like Solomon; etc.--wouldn't we have the truth found out more consistently, and the law used more equitably and sparingly, with people being helped in many ways?
