Political crap. Road rage. Endless lawsuits. Boycotting. Roadblock protests. You name it.

First I'm not saying that things are fine--I know they're not--but does it seem like people are just more and more pissy all the time? I'm beginning to think that there is an underlying and mostly unconscious need for people to just be pissed off. I know people feel betrayed, disconnected, disillusioned, victimized, and powerless(and there are plenty of arguments in favor of that).

Resolved: There's a ton of awful things happening, both to us and to others.

So here's a challenge--without getting political, can you answer my question? Do you think people just need to rage?

My answer is yes. I don't think people can control themselves and a lot of it is misdirected anger from another source.

One rule: Be nice or post goes poof.

I don't think it's about needing to be angry so much, but rather the anger is a manifestation to other things happening in peoples lives.

it's more about fixing the core issues, however that can be really difficult because it seems like the demands of life are becoming more and more just for basic things.

Like sleep for example.

Sleep works wonders for mental health and coping, but with the cost of living getting higher, people need to work more, not for fancy or prestigious reasons but just for the basics.
They have less time to work on core issues, like getting enough sleep, mentally processing, working through what they need to work through

it's like getting the sniffles is a sign of a weaker immunes system, but a weaker immune system can easily come from just being run down.

so anger, can be likened to the sniffles?
and if you don't take care of the sniffles when they start, you can get A LOT sicker

ps. sorry for the ramble, lol 😂

also, great post.
I like things like this, makes me think deep
@Fishy ooh, this is a really good metaphor.

I kinda feel the same. Anger is a symptom of something else. And yes, sometimes it needs to manifest....but if you do nothing about it - itll get worse.

@OogieBoogie Some say that anger is fear. Well...perhaps. But I'm still confounded by how so many people are not wrapped tight.
@uncalled4 oh ypu are right ....it IS fear.
Fear is our most CORE emotion.

Like Fishy said
the anger is a manifestation to other things happening in peoples lives.

Its the base of many feelings grief, sadness, trauma, anger etc.
Apparently there is like a 7 (?) step program to processing fear I forget exactly how it goes, but its something like:
- shock
- denial and avoidance
- blame and anger
- bargaining
- Saddness and depression
- acceptance
- letting go

These people only make it to number three and stop. The anger is easier than moving up in awareness. Each level is painful.
Each level gets more personal and hurts deeper.

And they are affraid ti do it .....to feel it.

So .....they stay angry

@OogieBoogie Agreed.

But people get stuck at anger because there isn't any way they can bargain. As an example, (let's say) I have an electric car which I need to charge at a public charging station: need to have an app on the smartphone for the charger to work / charge the car, BUT I lost the phone, I have $50 in my wallet in cash along with a couple credit cards and a debit card (which means I do have money / have access to money), but without the smartphone that money is useless... PS this IS the reason I won't buy an electric car.
@thisguy20 well, i suppose so.

But we were talking specifically talking about people who argue aggressively over politics, like some users do on here.

@OogieBoogie Unless one holds a high level public office, there isn't really anything one can do (i.e. not being able to change anything) when it comes to politics.

@OogieBoogie And we get to have a front seat on social media. Lucky us!
