My friend told me that isn’t it interesting how cooking is feminine until money is involved

Find that a very interesting observation

What are your thoughts?

When were just kids,,, my Mom cooked for us, Dad cooked as well.. Mom's cooking was great / awesome ,,, but Dad's could sometimes be even better than hers... but that was a secret....lol. Oh how I miss them both and the great dinners !
I love cooking and I cook to feed myself. If someone paid me to cook a meal I wouldn't mind income 😋💰

I thought of that once too ..it's a *woman's job* to cook or prepare food for centuries
Yet if you cook and switch it into a restaurant or as a *chef* now it involves status, money , skill.

I cook and my partner (woman) both cook. Sometimes together on projects or sometimes on our own. We both “bring something to the table”, literally.

I see it simply as
If you're hungry, you'll cook

At least that's how I personally think of when it comes to cooking
heavyone2 · 61-69, M
@Ferric67 Yep, I been doing it since I was a kid.....either cook or go hungry or nowadays.....nearest cafe or resturant... but I'd rather cook it myself.
When we asked for equality back in the twentieth century, we thought people would support bigger welfare checks and maybe some men would put on aprons and enter the kitchen without shame. The source of our community power was in the kitchen.
We got removed from our kitchens by conservatives and moderates who hated feminist thinking but went along with Gloria Steinem and the idea that broads want to do macho things!
This isn't feminist, but conservatives and moderates together are very pushy and loud and without actual feminists the mainstream has become a brash liar.

@Roundandroundwego this has absolutely NOTHING to do with politics. and since you wanted to bring it up the person who told me this is a leftist

Of course . We are supposed to serve and be dependant...not earn and have the ability to save ourselves from misogyny and abuse.

Sadly, I agree--the most "famous" chefs in our society are men...the ones making the most money as well
My son in law cooks for his family

I see it as life skills
I thought that's how it worked

Don’t understand what they said.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
@MrBrownstone I took it as, cooking is' meant' for women (stereotype of course) ..but once money is involved, men are fine or like it then.
LookingForTheSummer · 31-35, M
@Coralmist Or even call themselves the best at it. Lol

We pay for a female cook for our home.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
@ABCDEF7 why not a male cook?
ABCDEF7 · M
@Jenny1234 Female cooks are available easily in my area.
