I cry in front of people sometimes. It's not like they care anyway, so why hold it in?
ValeriaVonDisney · 22-25, F
@SW-User You are so brave.
SW-User
@ValeriaVonDisney I never understood why people try to master holding everything in. Many emotions can be reigned in, but for who? If you need help, if you're overwhelmed, crying won't scare away someone who cares.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@SW-User When people see weakness, they tend to use it against you. In reality, many people who we see cheering when we are up, are actually secretly delighting when we are down.

Something about humanity.
So sometimes, it feels nicer to talk with a stranger about what's troubling you.

It depends, I keep them inside for most people. There are a few I would tell but only if I feel like it 🥲 honestly people usually don’t care much, but it can be good to let it out and talk to someone about it

I’ve learned to keep a majority of them to myself because of the reactions others can have to them. When my feelings aren’t shining as bright and warm as the sun, there’s this instant shift in the facial expression and body language that confirms that people don’t necessarily want the truth of how you feel about something or someone…they just want the expression of feelings that makes them feel comfortable. Gotta be copacetic these days because everyone’s already dealing with too much negativity.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@acupaday But then reigning it in...it doesn't help us heal, does it?

It just adds to the pile...making it even harder to cover up. It accummulates until we feel like we're about to be swallowed. It hurts to the point of physical pain.
acupaday · 46-50, F
@Casheyane Nope. With every moment we have to deny and swallow how we truly feel the demons within grow stronger. I’ve had to bury them for a good portion of my life so wearing a mask is no big deal for me. It’s been lowered several times though, to test if it was safe to let myself fully breathe, but more often than not it was proven not to be. Such an existence wears a person down physically, mentally, and emotionally. But you still keep trekking because you know that while it’s a hard existence, it’s one that you can make peace with along the way enough to push through without letting certain things define you or effect the happiness you’re entitled to.
Generally, I reign them in. Experience tells me it's too dangerous to show people my true thoughts and feelings. Their judgments are flying just below the surface, looking for places to land.

Nah not too much now. Learning to handle your emotions an feelings is only wise re emotional maturity.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@SW-User Did you get there? Are you happy with the result of that so called maturity?
SW-User
@Casheyane Always a work in progress. 🤓
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@SW-User Only when life ends should progress end.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I have to vent it around the close ones or on social media and hate to say it but I often transfer them onto other people too. 😐 I'm an incredibly annoying person when something nags me from inside.
Jenny1234 · 56-60, F
My feelings are private and I’m careful about who I trust and let in. My feelings are important to me
Talking about myself in any way is a foreign concept to me. I’m such a listener
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@Pressure I am a good listener too. But even a good listener needs someone else to be the good listener for them sometimes.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
Reigning them in works like a pressure cooker. Its doesn't last for long.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
@Casheyane Oh, I explode all right. But its more a swear under my breath before going for a long walk with my Ipod turned up. Then starting a fight.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@Thevy29 ah

Does it help? Starting a fight?

Also, you ever tried art therapy?
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
@Casheyane Its a stress relief. But does cause more problems 🤷🏼‍♂️. I have never been good at art.
ValeriaVonDisney · 22-25, F
I usually stuff my feelings in a sack, and toss that sack into an ocean of my tears.
SW-User
Just trying to be professional.
Puttywoods · 61-69, M
Keep them to myself,no one cares and things wouldn't change even if they did
I rarely give it all away.
FreestyleArt · 36-40, M
I believes nobody gives a shit. That is fine when they deal with a lot of shit these days. I'm sure a few have patience to give a shit.

I guess that's the new norm for now
