There are branches of reasons to live

For people who are wanting to die.

You can tell a person who wants to die the reasons of living, yet it will lack the purpose for living on ones own terms.

You could tell them, "You could go (back) to college to major in something you want to turn into a career."
Them declining that's not a reasonable fact, would start thinking of branches of why it isn't something to want to do: Student debt, stress, transportation (if there's no dorms and if you don't have a car), no financial aid, etc.
For the career part: "I wouldn't want to have a career until I'm eligible for retirement.", "Wouldn't that be insanity; doing the same thing, expecting different results?", "Why would I want to have a career doing the same thing? It may become boring."

These branches are the overthinking process of people who want to die. Though sometimes, overthinking has reasonable outcomes.

Even I sit back and wonder why I'm still alive. I have that feeling that I shouldn't have gotten this far in life. It was like I was meant to die years ago, or that I should've died.
