I’ve been very much in the past lately. I even found my Mom’s journal the other day. When I was living in the van I was constantly in the present, which was great, but upon coming back I realized I hadn’t settled with things from the past that would be necessary to settle before I can move forward. Sometimes I think it’s important to dive into that pain and past life to understand yourself better today. Yet if you cry, people begrudge you for your journey because it’s not smiley and positive. I could cry today and feel better tomorrow, but of lost friends because nobody wants to deal with the hurt and shadows. I don’t promote either way. Positive/negative, it’s all part of it.

@RebelFox I live at my mom's old house. I do not legally own it, but my brother does but he does not stay there. I won't bore you with all those details but the point is, and my experience it could take some time, maybe even a few years to adjust but eventually your mom's house might just become home should you decide to fix it up to your liking.

Not necessarily.
There is a difference between reliving the past and living in the past.
The former can propel you forward with better understanding, while the latter can consume you to be stuck where you are.

Trauma is sign of one losing touch with oneself. Rehashing is the minds attempt to make you reconcile with it. Sometimes the past is where you must remain until you can.
Great point. Will totally use this today to not make the same mistakes if and when I see her. Life goes on and like in the past she's not in my present either. Dive into my new book to establish foundations for a brighter future keep focus on now and tomorrow slowly letting go of yesterday.
I think it's healthy to live moment to moment, but I'm a sentimental so my mind can easily wander back. I do like to look back and see how far I've came, especially in this past year!

@MoonlightLullaby I've grown for the better over the last couple of years too
@Ferric67 Congrats. It definitely isn't easy but it sure does feel awesome. Keep growing.😉🌷

And those who don't learn from the past, are bound to make the same mistakes.
