What is the big deal about these mushrooms these weirdos are so passionate about?

Why are people saying Mushrooms send you on a trip? How?! You must be waiting for them to go mouldy or haven't washed them first. I mean I like mushrooms too you know, Spaghetti and Pizza wouldn't be the same without them. 🤷‍♂️ I just don't get why some people are so excited by them.
