I think in the beginning people should have that benefit. I rather people show me who they are rather than just go completely off someone else's word.

It is best as we shouldn't judge people on the chapter that we walked in on and we also don't know what choices they had to choose from.

at first yes but only if there's reason to doubt them like an occurrence from the past then not
