If Nancy, Adam hillary Bill or an obama dies this week of covid 19 I may believe that it's more than the election flu

@MarineBob
no it doesn't add up
Actually it does.

What doesn't add up is the excuse that there are only more cases because there are more testing, as the percentage of positives have gone up too.

And it's mainly gone after areas with high population density and not wearing masks, like it did in NY and out west until they started with masks, and now the south which mainly have refused to wear masks after it became a political issue, and why the politicians that were against masks are slowly going towards masks.

It only doesn't add up if you're in a low population density area and haven't seen it, and looking for excuses.

Even the President and Congress have agreed it's real. They disagree to what extent it's a threat, but they agree it's real and has killed people.

@Viper no, there have been multiple stories over the past couple weeks of false positives (ATL, anyone?!). I've even seen several different examples of people registering for a test, canceling their test but getting a phone call a few days later delivering the news of their positive results.
...of a test they never actually took.
It's too coincidental that several politicians are demanding additional testing, then use the results from those to dramatize a "spike". And even with an increase in cases, the death trends are down (now that we got NY and NJ under control).
Viper · M
@easterniowegin It's government run, so of course there are some F'ups especially with this being a new government thing.

That doesn't nessarily discount the results as a whole... and people have been pushing for better tests for a good while. Which the government hasn't seemed to give one shit about, with even the President publicly admiring he wants to slow down testing, instead of you know, actually improving them.
It's too coincidental that several politicians are demanding additional testing, then use the results from those to dramatize a "spike".
Except for where most of the spikes are happening are areas that don't take the virus as serious.

And SERIOUSLY? You're surprised that people who want to do test want to report the finding?

Why would you do a test to NOT report the findings? That's why they do tests!

It's only coincidental because you don't like the results.
easterniowegin · 51-55, M
@Viper it's all coincidental because Democrats seem to think that poor economy and high case counts and high death counts are good news for them. Like bas news for America is good politics for them. They politicize everything. I mean Nancy is now calling this Trumpvirus. And they keep saying that the deaths are because of trump, when every governor has been directly responsible for their own state's actions.
Because of the constant politics involved, I don't trust any of it. I'm not saying it is fake...but it has most definitely been blown out of proportion. We can't believe any numbers.
Viper · M
@easterniowegin So this isn't about health facts, but political appearances, got it.

The bottom line is the health facts do add up if you ignore the political garbage.

If ignore the health facts and pay attention to the politics is when you get into trouble, which is why were in trouble now. Masks became a political issue and not a health issue.
easterniowegin · 51-55, M
@Viper if you don't see that politics is driving many of these actions, then you're blissfully ignorant.
When you see a governor decide to extend a shutdown in retaliation, simply because people began protesting, it is no longer about science. When you see politicians weaponizing the pandemic for their party's benefit, it's no longer about science. When you see repeated false positive test results while politicians use those over-inflated numbers to their benefit, it is no longer about science. When you see police harrassing a lone person sitting on a beach, it is no longer about science. When you see non-covid deaths being reported as covid deaths, then see those "high death counts" being used for manipulative and political purposes, it is no longer about science.
Viper · M
@easterniowegin I never said I didn't see politics, but I can separate health facts from politics.

This isn't all politics either. Counties have largely controlled this illness by doing one simple freaking thing, putting a mask on when they're in public.

It's that freaking simple.
easterniowegin · 51-55, M
@Viper that's freaking anecdotal. If masks work, then explain the nursing home fiasco in NYC. Or explain Sweden's decision to not close down economy and not mandate masks.
Explain the disclaimer on n95 boxes claiming that they do not protect against coronavirus.

This whole thing has been blown way out of proportion. The "experts" were predicting 10x as many deaths...despite the current death numbers being inflated already.

It's ok for you (or anyone) to be scared. But it is NOT ok for anyone to make demands of others, related to anyone closing their business or wearing a mask in public.
Viper · M
@easterniowegin They've already been explained, if you actually wanted to learn about them instead of putting your head in the sand and whining.

Mask aren't a cure all, they just assist with limiting the spread.

So letting a virus kill people is okay, but asking people to wear a mask is way too far... to death with the old folks then.
easterniowegin · 51-55, M
@Viper why do some always jump to the false equivalence statements??
"Letting a virus kill people" is what cuomo did in nursing homes. It is NOT a forgone conclusion that me walking out sans mask is going to kill anyone. In fact, statistically speaking, there's a 99.5%+ chance it won't.
But it feels better for you to attempt to mandate the actions of free citizens.
Viper · M
@easterniowegin

Honestly I was just mocking how you on how you think wearing a mask is too far, when reality, it's freaking simply.

And you argument is quite stupid, as we are not free citizens in public. We are not allowed to be naked, we all not allowed take shit anywhere, we are not allowed sell a fresh raw milk, many many places have to sanitary level to stay open, the this idea that we're actually free and allowing us not to have a mask some how be free is complete and total bullshit.

But it makes you feel better to lie to yourself.

And yes, limiting the spread of a virus does make me feel better. Because the sooner we limit it, the sooner we can go back to normal.

Otherwise, no mask, and they'll keep limiting the number of people per store and none of us want that... you just want to piss and moan about it, I actually want to do something about it.

I'm done with this conversation, have fun continuing to spread your lies.
easterniowegin · 51-55, M
@Viper you've got several things wrong there...
-while i completely agree that there are too many laws governing our actions, i will call out the fact that they are laws...voted on and ratified...not put forth by a tyrant.
- the simplicity of a directive has nothing to do with the need to follow it. Another false equivalence.
- a brand new virus is active...who told you that we expect to limit it? We don't limit "cold" virus. We try to limit the flu (ineffectively)...we may only learn to live with it. Your expectation is moving the goalposts. We were always told we needed to flatten the curve...never cure it.
- while I am "pissing and moaning" you are trying to control others...just so that you feel better. I am sick and tired of the emotional response: "well, at least I'm trying to do something." As if just the intent is all that matters in the scientific approach to this. Lol

You haven't shown me where I'm "lying" about anything. You've dismissed several points without honest consideration, but you've never given facts to back up anything.
