Do you have a childhood crush that you still think about?
I spent a week at a music camp when I was in 7th grade. I was an awkward and shy kid who had never had a girlfriend. In fact, I had only just started noticing girls. I met a girl who was beautiful with red hair, freckles, and a great smile. Inexplicably to me, she liked me, and we spent as much time as possible together that week. We held hands while walking and talking, and she would lean her head on my shoulder while we sat on couches in the common area. I worked up the courage to kiss her on the head, but never the lips. Before we left, we held each other for so long, not wanting to let go.
Back then, communication was not what it is now, and social media didn't exist yet, so I never saw her again. I've tried to find her on social media more recently, but I've never been able to. We really only spent a few days together, but I still think about her, and in some ways I still love her.
