Enough not to have people harassing me daily for something I said a certain way... not enough not to forget about it now and then.
I laugh and say things people take the wrong way.

@SW-User PC is a simple solution to a complex problem imo. I think the best thing would be for everyone to build a defence against the effects of negative or harmful things people say. Then there's no need for PC because people are able to cope with the frustration that normally arises with it.
Anyway i know it's all theoretical and even if it would happen it would likely take a lot of years maybe even hundreds, and would require enourmous effort put into it as well. :)

@Axelerator I think it's all spiralled out of control and people taking mileage out of sensitivity because they are enabled.

@SW-User I agree, it ends up becoming an excuse that's far too easy to use.
And it will likely keep growing, leading to more and more restrictions as people make them up.

It's good within reason. We should all be treated with equality.

@Axelerator Why is PC considered so toxic and destructive by so many people on SW?
Axelerator · 26-30, M
@Crazychick I couldn't say for people on SW, only been back like a week. But it's quite simple for me really, it's a restriction on free speech. Now that's not always a horrible thing, but when the meaning can shift to whatever people want it to, it becomes a big problem.
You end up in a place where people are afraid to say or discuss many things, because some other people have deemed that it's the wrong way to talk, and that's how it is.
I'd prefer a world where people could talk openly about almost anything, but that would take a long time, if it ever happens.

@Axelerator Free speech is OK within reason, but why do so many people abuse it by using it as an excuse to be abusive? That's when PC should take priority over it.

It’s a term that has always bugged me, because I’m old enough to remember that it took hold only after traditional targets of racist and sexist “jokes” started standing up for themselves.
So treating folks like human beings and not mocking them is being “politically correct”. 😒

I don’t believe in political correctness. I mean it’s not a real thing.

@MsAnnThropy I agree, but you'll find many who would argue that it is.

@Greybare Can you explain that logically, please?

It's speech control and attempted thought control. I have no use for it.

@SW-User It's certainly a modern mind virus.
