What age did you start a diary and what did it look like ?

I was 5 or 6, I'd have to check the dates on the first one. Mom would have me "write" or draw pictures, one page a day so when Dad got home he would read them. Dad was in the Navy and gone a lot so it was a way to let him know what I was doing when he was gone. Of course this doesn't count the pictures or letters I did that Mom mailed to him. I still keep one today, I never have stopped. At least one page a day.

All of the diaries look the same, brown hard cover leather look. The diaries are about an inch thick, maybe a little thicker.

About 3 years ago.. it’s a spreadsheet that lists the toe tag number, names, ages, dob, dod, gender, cause and manor of death and whether they were autopsied, of all those who die in my morgues jurisdiction. it also has my thoughts on the ones I see pictures of, or the ones that come to our funeral home and I interact with them.

I was 8 and had a purple fuzzy diary with a little lock on it. I wonder what happened to it, it would be interesting to see what sort of things I wrote about 20 years ago.

I had 2, 1 poorly hidden ( knowing mum would find it) keep her happy.
Then the real one!!!!! 😬 🤦‍♀️

When I was a teenager going through a bunch of crazy stuff. I have reread all of them and they make me cringe.
