What age did you start a diary and what did it look like ?

I was about 12 when I started writing one , mine was pink with a fairy on it and flashing blue lights and a lock. My aunty brought it for Christmas for me. most of my stuff in it was about issues at home and being bullied at school plus song lyrics and a list of my friends, crushes I had and a few drawings , and some weird quotes I found off the internet plus writing about being angry or depressed.

I was 5 or 6, I'd have to check the dates on the first one. Mom would have me "write" or draw pictures, one page a day so when Dad got home he would read them. Dad was in the Navy and gone a lot so it was a way to let him know what I was doing when he was gone. Of course this doesn't count the pictures or letters I did that Mom mailed to him. I still keep one today, I never have stopped. At least one page a day.

All of the diaries look the same, brown hard cover leather look. The diaries are about an inch thick, maybe a little thicker.

@SW-User You're welcome! I look back on it now and think how cool it was to do. Fun to look back through them. Some years I don't look through so much because of the bad stuff, but nice for other years, happy times with Mom and a great way to remember her by.
