Can anyone here relate to being depressed because they have suppressed emotions?

DanielChristensen · 46-50, M
My Buddhist teacher used to say depression is anger turned inward. Idk what he meant. Haha I suffered from bipolar depression and it just feels like unhappiness to me. So deep your bones hurt

I have been there once... it's not healthy to suppress emotions. Emotions don't make us weak...if anything they make us human.

Very much so. What’s on your mind dear?
introvertedbutterfly · 26-30, F
@JRVanguard Why is it so hard to manage now that you know?
JRVanguard · 26-30, M
@introvertedbutterfly Well depression isn’t rational. Knowing and making strides towards being happy helps, but there’s a distinct difference between depression and sadness
