In what case does the definition of "bad" become subjective?

That's a pretty unique question. The problem is it's easy to point to paradigmatic cases of "bad" being subjective (as in when someone says "that's bad" of a dish they personally dislike the flavor of) and cases of it being objective (as in when someone says "that's bad" of a wrench that fails to do anything). But the middle ground is always an area for judgment. No one can give you all the answers there, let alone easy ones.
