Why do I want to prove something to someone who is looking down at me?

He's always critisizing me for stuff and telling me I'm not good enough. Why do I want to improve and show him I'm capable?
I'm not in relationship with him, I actually don't have anything to do with him anymore, he used to be my lecturer at uni.

That would depend on where he's looking down at you... If it's the uni subject he was teaching it might be a good idea to think about what he said.... If it's about you personally and life choices, it's nothing to do with him

@Convivial yeah, it's more my character...

@LillyJulia this may hurt, but you often learn more from criticism then compliments... Cast aside your personal feelings about the guy and have an objective think about what he says... It might be valid or it might not ... Only you know that answer 🤗

If you're not married, treat it like a sports event.
Play action.....wait for the jack-ass to commit to the run, and then, while this ass-hat is looking long. stick yer damn key in the igniton along with the rest of your possessions and motor off....

[@lillyjuia] 🤔if it is meant to be constructive criticism to try and help you all well and good . but using a sledgehammer to break a nut as he was is something that is unacceptable and i glad you are trying to prove your worth
Don't. He is doing this searching for a voluntary victim

So you can throw it in his stupid, dumb, ugly face?

You are seeking their approval.
