The assumption that 'everyone seems to have some kind of mental illness,', is the fundamental flaw in the author's 'Deep Thinking'. Perhaps the author finds it rational. It's kinda like saying,

'If everything seems to appear yellow, does that mean I'm the one with illness'.

No.. you're ok.

It actually tells us nothing. You could be sane and everyone else simply isn't. You could be insane and thus believe sane people or crazy. Or everyone, including yourself, is insane.

Unfortunately the only situation ruled out is that nobody has a mental illness.

I think it's best you stop thinking.
