even though i have ocd, i wouldn't like to advise treatment so i say see a doctor.
ssri's can really help.
they stop rumination on a brain-chemistry level.
again, im not a psych or anything just telling my experience.

@Matt85 well tbh, there's a few treatment options:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Medication
- A combination of both
The combination is most effective.
Mindfulness based CBT with medication works for me

I think you have Obessive Compulsive Disorder. I've battled these thoughts too.

@basilfawlty89 So how do I stop the thoughts!?
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@MissNoahLenFoxx okay, so there's good news and bad news.
That news is that you can't as such. They're intrusive/automatic thoughts. The more you try to stop them, the stronger they get and the worse your anxiety gets.
The good news is that they do go away, once you realize a thought is just a thought and you face your fear. There's a treatment called Exposure and Response Prevention that's part of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy that's the gold standard for OCD.
