If you ever feel cringey...

Just remember that when I was eleven I posted a story on Wattpad with 51 chapters that was about a 13 year old who had skipped a grade to get into high school and started dating her 19 year old teacher's assistant. Who was actually a 700 year old shapeshifting, mind-reading vampire who had spent centuries looking for his mate. And also he stole her from her home in the middle of the night but it was fiiiiine because her mom was mean since she wouldn't let her have a phone. And plus he was hot.

And I then turned it into my 6th grade creative writings teacher for extra credit because 'they're both technically teenagers, so it's fine'

Still keeps me up at night y'all.

if it makes you feel better i wrote an austin mahone self insert fanfic on quotev when i was like 11 or 12 where the main character had the name of this girl at my school because i thought she had a pretty name n was pretty and at a sleepover these mean girls saw it on my phone and everyone thought i was a lesbian who was in love with that girl🥲

@Lucyy My mom definitely found out I had Wattpad on my tablet when I was like 11, and deleted it after an hour long lecture. Literally I was just reading Hunger Game fics where Prim didn't die because at 11 the ending of that trilogy was the most devestating thing to ever happen to me, but couldn't use that as a defense because my mom had ALSO told me that I wasn't allowed to read that 🙃 The misfortunes of having an actually aware mother haha

@AmmieBell SIIIIIISSS my mom for suuuure saw one of the covers of the vampire/werewolf books I read in middle school, and TRIED to gain awareness, but I somehow convinced her that it was the new cover for Romeo and Juliet and we had just started a Shakespear unit in school lmao

@Lucyy Noo 😭🤣

Reminds me of a story I refused to illustrate; the author (and her two co-editors) claimed it was okay to depict sex with a 12-year old girl because the character was actually a vampire in the body of a 12-year old but wasn't really 12, but I couldn't agree with her. The way she'd written it just creeped me out.

@ChipmunkErnie As an adult, I feel hella uncomfortable when they depict any kind of sexy scene with anyone under like 16. Adults have no reason to wanna sexualize 12 year old bodies tbh. Its understandable that middle schoolers are going to be interested in other middle schoolers, but an adult writing out a sex scene between any kind of underaged kid is just weird in my opinion
When i was 11 i thought crued oil was bad, turns out my mother is a feminist that supports Hillary Clinton. Life is full of conundrums.
Don’t forget to take your meds today

Too much Buffy the vampire slayer going around! 🤣

BTW that was long before Wattpad was around.

I was RPGing as Angelicus when Buffy the vampire slayer was still playing though

@SkeetSkeet This was actually before I read Twilight, but Wattpad stories were definitely very werewolf/vampire-story based (...and One Direction back then lmao)
And I'm sure those stories I was reading were inspired by Twilight lol. Romanticized vampires with mindreading abilities that dont actually die in sunlight, werewolves that live in packs and read each other's minds. All that middle school bs lmao
