I found it underwhelming, to be honest. Perhaps I'm simply getting tired of all the media being created that is little more than weaponized nostalgia for the stuff we loved when we were kids.

@JimboSaturn Oh, sure. It's sort of like what James Cameron said recently. It specifically related to the new Avatar movie, but it applies to all this stuff.
"I don't care if you don't like it because I know you're going to watch it anyway."
That's me. I'm going to watch it, anyway.

@DunningKruger Funny thing is that I know I'm being manipulated. I can see the corporate bastards in their boardroom pulling studies on our demographic and what will move us emotionally lol
DunningKruger · 61-69, M
@JimboSaturn Of course. "What are they willing to pay for? What are they willing to sit through commercials for?" Capitalism at its finest.

Oh, brother... Judging by how CGI much of it looks, I get the feeling the visuals are going to be the only thing carrying this movie. Flash or over substance, that never goes well. Makes sense that they're doing that though! Who else is going to carry the film, 80 year-old Harrison Ford who likes he can barely lift that whip?

I'm curious..... looks more like an animation then live action movie....
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Tracos Most action movies these days are animations, even the live action stuff.
Update: I found out why some of it looks animated. They are going to do flashback scenes with a digitally de-aged Harrison Ford.

@Tracos my thoughts exactly..im giving a miss this time i did see all previous at the movies but crystal skulls almost made me cry it was so poor, now hes nearly 80 it will be tragic.

An old man kicking ass. Yeah that's believable 🤦♀️
Lilymoon · F
@LordShadowfire it just seems silly... I mean he's close to 80
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@Lilymoon I'm not saying they should keep making movies with Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, either. What I'm saying is it's time to stop making them.
Lilymoon · F
@LordShadowfire yep agreed

I love it. I can’t wait. I watched the trailer this morning and haven’t stopped smiling.
wonkywinky · 51-55, M
hmmmmm i was sadly disappointed by the crystal skulls debacle from 14 years ago when ford was only in his mid 60s,even then in the fight scenes it looked like an old guy getting mugged, now hes nearly 80 years old,it will look like almost a parody....also im afraid to say,the modern wokeness will kill indiana jones like it has bond.....let it go now.

Man I remember how disappointed I was when I went to the theater and saw The Crystal Skull. I don't think I could bear seeing the new one.
Magnolia21 · 22-25, F
I may be cynical, but this feels like another cash grab style of movie.
JimboSaturn · 51-55, M
I didn't even know there is another movie. I don't think the last one was that great.
wonkywinky · 51-55, M
Ford is much the same age as Joe Biden.
Think of it like that.
He looks very well but really,at 80 almost its way too far fetched.
Imagine getting 91 year old Clint Eastwood to reprise Gunny Highway in Heartbreak Ridge?

It’s not what I believe, it’s how hard (lol I’m like a little boy) I believe it. I believe I am going to love it!

I wasn't interested at all when I heard it was in the making, but this trailer looks fun.
Whodunnit · M
It's gonna suck balls.
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
I don't need to watch the trailer to know I don't like it
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
Oh, look. Another Indiana Jones adventure. Surely this isn't another blatant attempt at using nostalgia to sell tickets.
They even have the slow, emotional version of the Indy theme as he picks up his hat.😆

@SW-User That scene is why the phrase "jumping the shark" was replaced with "nuking the fridge".
