It's not his fault that podcasts have this weird ability to bypass people's critical thinking, because the listeners feel they have a social / parasocial relationship with the host. But he must be aware of that, and there are huge issues with how he interviews and who he interviews.

He's cool, etc and I listen to him a lot with regards to MMA. He's not beyond reproach though. He's earned the ire of a lot of MMA fans for saying stupid shit when commentating fights. Just look at the fight Israel Adesanya vs Jan Błachowicz.

@Punxi Yeah, I don't pay much attention to his celebrity guests (singers, actors, etc.) but it's interesting when he has intellectuals on. Jordan Peterson comes to mind 😍 Apparently Joe Rogan criticized him for "dead naming" Elliot Page though, which is kinda stupid. That's partly why I can't bring myself to like him that much on a personal level. There's things he says here and there that resonate with me, and I appreciate that he asks questions...that's as far as it goes though. I defended him when people wanted to shut him down in January because it was such trash they were espousing...totally unfair and unnecessary. People like Neil Young can just suck a dick.

@SW-User Certainly. I mean the guys rise to fame if we even call it as such was not built upon an intellectual foundation. Basically a personality, of which remains his own brand and surely a limited fan base. Indeed have seen the Jordan Peterson one...Edward Snowden multiple times...even Penn Jillette I found to be wuite intresting.

He seems like a pretty chill guy, which makes his podcasts interesting since he can loosen up his guests pretty easily. The biggest gripe I have with him is that he's a total meathead that clearly doesn't know much besides martial arts and comedy, so when he talks about political, social, or scientific matters, it's pretty obvious that he's way outside his lane.

I like his podcasts. Some are very interesting and make sense in this fucked up world we live in. He has many interesting guests. I tend to listen mostly to academics or politicians. The one with Tulsi Gabbard was very compelling and fascinating.
