Wireless DVD player

I am looking for a way of playing DVDs on my TV. I would rather have something I don't have to connect to to the TV. I haven't yet found anything. Some of the players I have looked at also have smart features that I don't need as they are already in my TV. If anyone has or knows of anything for sale in the UK, your help would be appreciated.

You would have to get an HDMI to HDMI wireless transmitter and receiver.

@JovialMoose is latency a issue?

Scratch that since it's one way it won't matter

@AllycatAD Probably. It wouldn't be my solution. I'd probably just attach a portable DVD to the back of the TV.
Some devices you can cast straight to your smart TV wirelessly. So if your laptop still has a DVD player, you might be able.

well with the popularity of streaming, I don't know either, but with past personal experience, if I thought about it, a few months or year or two later it becomes available. Hey, never know Sony or and JVC maybe be working on it now.

I have access to an old plug in DVD player. Perhaps I should try that first. Should there be any difference in playback quality between that and a brand new one?

I have a portable DVD player with a built-in screen, no need to hook it up to anything.

@Sidewinder I have one of those. It's not big enough for us both to watch in comfort.

@Jacko1971 The first one I had was back in 2005/06 and since I didn't have that many movies on DVD, I mainly used it as a portable CD Player.

There are even television sets with DVD players built-in.

Just like there used to be television sets with built-in VCR's.

The only thing I can find is the HDMI wireless transmitter and receiver.
As far as I know, BluRays are still HDMI wired.
