Has anyone been on a hot air balloon ride ? what happens when you need to use the bathroom ?

I did go for a short ride on one. It went 40 feet into the air but was tethered to the ground. I bet it's amazing to do it for real.

I guess if youre not in populated area you could do it over the side, tied in with a harness.

I have. The ride was about 30-45 minutes. Launching takes about an half an hour. The time to return to the launch site depends on traffic, but was about half an hour for my trip, so there was no access to a washroom for 2 hours.

I'm assuming you make sure you go before departure and those rides only last two hours or so. When it comes to bathroom usage it's pretty much the same as a medium car trip.

Haven't been on a hot air balloon, but did go on a dirigible. Although I didn't pay attention, I assume they had a portapotty type restroom as the gondola held nearly a dozen including crew.

I'm not going to get into a hot air balloon, you don't have enough control over their movements, and they catch on fire and/or deflate and plummet more than you think
