I hate being bipolar, its awesome.
perhaps u are, but get urself actually diagnosed? maybe ur having postpartum depression. it can start later and can last a long time and no one talks about the amount of time it takes to leave..

@deathfairy you make a good point, I was in denial until my daughter was almost 2. @Notsimilarreally
Get checked out please.
DX ourselves may not be helpful but it is very stressful.

If you are, it's okay too.
You will adapt.

Don't feel bad if you do.
My brother has it and he's been stable for a decade now. With the right treatment, many bipolar people have happy, successful lives.

I used to think the same thing about myself. I took a personality test and found out I鈥檓 infj which is a common trait with them. Take the personality test. It may help you understand yourself more

Well, the folks on SW are the epitome of sanity.....

No, they are not, of course. So, please make an appointment with someone who can really address your concerns constructively.

I'm not sure why you think you're bipolar?
It's quite a complex disorder.

I have anxiety and depression which can be misdiagnosed as bipolar.

I often think I would earn that label among many others, if ever evaluated.
Notsimilarreally31-35, F
@WaryWitchWandering it is just a label. True that.

Does that mean if we're going out, it would be a Double Date? 馃馃榿馃槅馃槈馃槉馃槑

@MrsMONAKanful You don鈥檛 need to share those pics, we know you鈥檙e a woman. We know you here 馃┓.
Convivial26-30, F
Which one of you decided that?
@Convivial She is not talking about multiple personalities.
Bipolar dx, has nothing to do with an alter.
Dissociative identity disorder (DID) was previously known as Multiple Personality Disorder (MPD), and is sometimes incorrectly called "split personality" or even "dissociated personality", and it is characterized by the presence of more than one distinct sense of identity within a single human body.

The alternate identities in people with DID are commonly known as alters, or dissociated parts of the personality.

What are Alters? Other terms for alter include: alternate identity, dissociative identity, distinct personality state, distinct identity, personality state, personality, dissociated part, self-state, part, part of the mind, part of the self, dissociative part of the personality.

Did you hit a manic phase or something like that?
wackidywack22-25
what things were you noticing
iamonfire69641-45, F
Get evaluated, that diagnosis takes some time because the Psychiatrist needs to see a pattern of the manic and depressive stages.

It took while for them to diagnose my husband.
@iamonfire696 I remember there was a guy in prison, they were treating him only for his depressive episodes, because that was the only time anybody reported him to mental health for evaluation. His manic episodes got him into a lot of trouble, but nobody ever connected the dots. It was pretty sad, and I don't know what eventually happened to him.
Do you want to know a secret?

Everybody's a little bit bipolar. Some of us are more so than others.
