Another sleepless night?

During the light of day I busy myself and you rarely cross my mind.
When darkness falls it’s a different story and my mind replays the good times.
My evening ritual of chores and reading keeps my memory of you at bay.
It’s when my head hits my pillow you flood my brain.
I toss and turn, laugh and cry I feel a little crazy actually, still hearing your voice and seeing your face.
All I can do is hope for exhaustion to take over so I can close my eyes, but you haunt my dreams too.

"Midnight Memories"

Not even the pillows would talk to her,
Much less, hold back her tears,
His place beside her-
Empty.
The minutes, hours, days-
Weeks, months and years.
Every waking moment,
Every midnight craving-
His voice, his smile, his touch.
Everything about him, now turned to dust,
And all that she has left are her dreams,
And those lonely moments in the heat of the night-
Those midnight memories.

@SW-User i hoped you'd like it 👍🤗❤️🌹
I know this well, and I hope you move past.. There is life waiting for you on the other side, while you heal. You might find that life offers you more than you knew already, but take your time, heal.

@thewindupbirdchronicles thank you, I will.
@SW-User Please do, and I have someone playing on my mind, too, tonight.
I think of ma chérie much when i'm falling asleep.

It's something of lament that my dreams tend to be of things I thought of during the wakng hours but briefly.

Because I thnk about her entirely too mcuh to dream of her.

::sighing::: To fall asleep in her arms.

Sorry, you just inspired me somewhat ;x I'm not suffering insomnia but the caffeine makes it hard to not Wake back to bed problems. will be fixed soon as I taper off with No doz.
@SW-User she knows by now too that my usual emotional gaurd softens as i'm falling asleep. will usuaully get something of a ramble from me but generally a flattering one.

last night it was just the friend who brought us together and her are . well, on Thin ice and ther'e's tension.

that friend is seriously hurt because Alyssa did not give her money when she needed it and told her( was a he before btw. transwoman) that she was not human cash register.

it was uncourteous of her but Of course understandablle because michelle ask every few days for 10 here 20 there 45 there and it's usually me now that has kept her aflloat with some hope the state will pick up the tab and I won't have to anymore as she applies to SNAP and every other benefit program and well Alyssa (my love) and michelle (The mutual friend who united us.) have not been on speaking terms because michlle eventually just pushed her into wits end.

and I have to remind michelle that Alyssa has sent her care packages before. I had to tell alyssa I have no doubt that if didn't just have too much on your plate you woudl have run to help her but she just didn't get you had other priotititys and many of them were charitable and signfiicant

alyssa's family runs food drives during the holidays to feed the hungry she's always been very giving..

and so watching those two fued, I told lys about it she was like don't. It's my decision it's personal and such nad so tonight I was just telling her I have complete confidence that whatever she found more important than michelle mattered quite a bit.

and that I admmire her so much that my faith in her has not been shaken by things.

@BetweenKittensandRiots it’s sad but money gets in between people, family, close friends, partners etc. it doesn’t matter. She’s lucky to have a supportive partner in you.
@SW-User I hate what money does at this point because these are the type too that usually don't let it but somehow it's come between them and it's disheartening because minus michelle we'd never of met. (me and lyssa)

As for me. Cathy Dennis - Too Many Walls (HQ)
Wish on a rainbow is all I can do.
Dream of the good times that we never knew.
No late nights alone in your arms.
I'll dream on. Living in wonder, thinking of you.
My time has yet to come. Until then.
Deep in my heart I know the strength is within.
@SW-User Cathy Dennis was quite famous in her time but she also faded into obscurity and is an unsung pop PRINCESS and DIVA from a time period which honestly Pop music was a million times better than it often is today. Cathy Dennis if you were not aware went into the shadows and started selling her tracks to other artist and was the KEY from the early 90s era that connects it to the 2000s era because she sold her tracks to ALL of the pop princesses from the 2000s. Britney, Kylie, pretty much the only ones she didn't were So talented themselves they didn't need her, Michelle branch and Vanessa Carlton being the only two really notable exceptions. Britney's "Toxic" is actually her work. During the early 90s we had Her and Also Wilson Phillips who despite my metal head and industrial loving ways I am QUITE taken by.

I am musically an eclectic.

and Earlys 90s pop was honestly BREATHTAKINGLY better than the current pop.

it's honestly STUNNING how much better it was. it's totally day and night difference and a huge upgrade.

it's like stepping into a completely BETTER world, one I almost wish I was in!

The 90's had such awesomely fun dance music. Wonderful time. This track was a top 40 radio hit but had a mass appeal, in the clubs and on the radio and still sounds phenomenal in the year 2020.
I'm honestly a HUGE fan of early 90s pop. utterly enchanting and unforgettable.
@SW-User I'm not yanking your chain at all either.

everything from when I was about 6 years of age is just jaw dropping.

This is one of the worst ways to spend a night, especially when they're never ending. Although I'm a nocturnal lover, I can easily fear the night for this very reason. Sigh 🥀

I know this all too well. The more i try to forget the more i remember.
SW-User
@SW-User exactly, it’s a terrible trick our minds play on us. 🙁

I can empathise. Night-time when one cannot sleep is the worst.

Would you wish for voices, images to stop?
SW-User
@SensualRomantic never, I still love him, always will.
alan20 · M
@SW-User I think that is part of the problem for both of us : we don't want to lose the memories even though we see remembering as painful.
