I gave in and took one

So I've been on pain pills for a while now and today I was hoping to not take one. The side effects are really giving me issues but the pain got to be to much and I had to take one. I'd rather deal with the side effect than the pain. I'm going to call my doctor tomorrow though because something has got to give.
