I likewise suffer from TMJ. At times it would lead to earache. A pinched nerve in the upper-upper neck can cause toe pain. TMJ can lead to inflamed muscles in the neck and jaw which can pinch nerves.
There are also tiny bone-extensions in vertebra that fit into sockets of adjacent vertebra that serve to give flexibility to the backbone without pinching the nerves running up and down the backbone tunnel. Those tiny bone extensions start wearing down as we age, leading to pinched nerves when adjacent vertebra don't move together.
