I know grief is uncomfortable

but one thing I've noticed is being afraid of saying the wrong things is more isolating than simply asking and witnessing someone's grief.

When our people are gone we need the thoughts to be witnessed. It doesn't get rid of them but gives space to breathe.

Don't be afraid of the people in grief

Yes. It's very true.
Did you notice this while facing grief and wanting people to try and talk to you about it, or when trying to console others who are facing grief?

Most people say the wrong thing. But I understand they are trying to help, so I'm ok with that.

It’s difficult. When I’m grieving it’s like there is a piece of glass between me and the world. I can see someone speaking to me but I hear no sound.

I try to encourage people to carry on as normal and I’ll eventually converge with them somewhere down the line.
I wish more people understood this. Someone else's pain is not an assault on their joy.
