How Long Is It Going To Feel This Bad?

I'm a year and five months into this journey called grief and it still hits like a tsunami some days. I never knew you could feel so many emotions at one time. People say time is a great healer. They mean well but respectfully I think it's balls. I don't think we do heal. It's the cost of love. I think as time goes on I'm learning to build my life around the grief. Where once I wasn't capable of doing anything but exist, now I go out, see my friends and laugh. But grief is still there right in the centre of my life. As I’m sure you already know, it depends on the person.

As for me, took about two years before I stopped crying myself to sleep every night.

It's a slow and painful process for sure. You'll always miss him but the day will come when you realize you are more at peace with it.

Hopefully not long.
