Why did my therapist keep suggesting that i dont do anything towards my bully?
She said to just walk away and they will leave you alone.

Depends on the context,
sometimes doing something about it can cause more problems because they know you're upset, and then they have you right where they want you.
Other times if you embarrass them, they will come after you harder.
But on the other hand, sometimes doing something about it can send them running with their tail between their legs.
Really depends on the situation and the particular bully you're dealing with
