Deep breaths, analyze the situation, what makes me feel unsafe in the situation, then talk to myself (loudly if needed) that it's safe and all in my head. And if worst case scenario should happen, there are ways to get out unharmed, then tell myself those ways.
I've done this for so many years it all happens within seconds usually, but it helps.
