I’m feeling anxious, like I might get fired.

As some of you already know, I recently got hired for my first job (about two weeks ago), but because of all the holidays, today is only my 6th actual working day.

I’ll keep some details vague.

In these 6 days, I was given 4 projects—basically all about making programs fetching data from some where. Out of 4 main tasks, I’ve only managed to finish one. The rest I couldn’t properly test because of limited resources. For example, I can only run a few tests per day, and I don’t have full permissions to access all the data I need.

It’s really frustrating. I want to do more, but I feel stuck. I’m worried they’ll think I’m slacking or underperforming and fire me, even though I’m trying my best.

Go to your direct supervisor and tell him or her that you don't have full permissions to access the data you need. It's better that the supervisor knows you tried and you were blocked. Once you've done that, you've thrown responsibility back in the supervisor's lap and he or she has to get you full permissions.

I just read your comment below. You've already done that. You've done everything you are able to do. No one can fault you.
