Lonely and anxious

I will manage. It’s a little harder lately as things are changing quite a bit in my life.
The divorce, losing a bit of support, trying to make new friends, packing for my move, tackling clutter, training for new job, And sending my youngest to college this weekend. I will be ok.

I need to use my better coping skills instead of silly distractions like meeting w people And making friends. But I just wished I had something to look forward to so I arranged a birthday dinner for myself with new people. However it’s causing some anxiety. Distracting me from my more serious issues.

So you are an empty nester? It takes getting used to.

@samueltyler2 I would’ve been but I’ve decided to move in with my older sons temporarily. How was your empty nest experience?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@Stuffy it was very off, at first, we kept waiting for her to come home. It got easier for that, but, the house felt so empty for so long.

@samueltyler2 just the one child? I had four

@Stuffy we had three, 3 years apart each, . So the loss was gradual. Also, they would return home for long stays related to life bumps in the road. When the last one left, we started thinking about downsizing. Then they have us grandkids, and when everyone came home we needed all that room.

@samueltyler2 I don’t think I’ll ever have a grandchild. My sons are not interested. Thanks in part to a marriage that should have ended sooner :/

@Stuffy you never can tell. The evolutionary/genetic desire to reproduce is very powerful, than goodness, it maintained the species this long

@samueltyler2 I’m not that thankful for it

@Stuffy why is that?
