Have you ever had a pap smear?

How was it?
Fishy · F
Where I live there's an option to do it yourself,

the doctor will give you a swab and explain how to do it and then they will let you do it on your own behind a curtain so you have privacy
Fishy · F
@TessDun Yeah, the only reason I know about this option is because I told my doc I was very insecure and she told me about it

You should definitely ask your doctor about this, it might also be an option where you live too
Fishy · F
@TessDun I'm pretty sure she also said its a recent thing, so I don't think many people know about the self examination yet

@Fishy I hope we have it here. The ones I see in google are scary

Way more than i would have liked... i like how @NoGamesTolerated put it
Sometimes it will make you want to jump off the exam table. Other times you don’t feel it.
TessDun · 36-40, F
@NoGamesTolerated How painful was it that you wanted to jump off 😰?
@TessDun Scale of 1-10.. a 5. I think the difference is how much tissue they scrape off. Most always nothing to it… very little feeling at all.

That's a part of a standard exam. Depending on the doctor you have you can barely notice it's done or it can sting. Or you can be allergic to the lube or whatever else is used by the procedure and then it thoroughly sucks.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@TessDun I had never had an issue with it until the last time I had an exam. I'm not sure how to deal with it next time. If I should bring my own lube or what..?
TessDun · 36-40, F
@CrazyMusicLover Maybe you can bring your own or better consult with the doc. Overall the procedure was tolerable right?
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@TessDun I had it done many times because that's the only way I could and can get BCP. Sometimes I barely felt anything, other times it stung or it felt like the doctor took much more time than needed.

I personally have not but anyone I know that has didn't die of it. Un comfortable to lightly painful. Able to still function. But not having it done options are far worse
Applepiedom · 56-60, M
@TessDun lmao no as I said I've not had it done but my partners have
TessDun · 36-40, F
@Applepiedom I just googled and there is one done in the back door
Applepiedom · 56-60, M
@TessDun and the point of that. I have no cervix
morrgin · F

Urgh. I Hate pap smear and pelvic exams. Uncomfortable. But it is what it is. Better to just go and get it over with...just in case.

My best friend's mom had ovarian cancer. Luckily it was caught. She had a hysterectomy. So I think of her and what she went through.

@FrogManSometimesLooksBothWays The smallest one please 😂

This is a disgusting ass post. Pap smear is one of the most invasive medical procedures ever. You must be a guy.
No, but I've had several mammograms.
