I really can't get into Tik Tok

Both my new phone and my new tablet keep "popping up" OPPORTUNITIES to create a Tik-Tok account.

Probable the last thing I would ever do as I've never seen any value in the app .......

Totally annoying...

I’ve never felt I suffered from the lack of Tik Tok in my life. I’m not even totally sure what it is TBH.

i have given tik tok about 10 minutes of my life...... that was 11 minutes too much.

So, it’s just a platform for videos. Kinda like if someone said “I can’t get into YouTube” because someone who doesn’t have their same taste showed them some awful trending video.
The main difference is with YouTube we tend to search for most things. Then there’s the small selection of curated videos on the Home Screen that YouTube thinks you’ll like.
TikTok is kind of the opposite. You [u]can[/u] search for things, but it’s mostly videos TikTok thinks you’ll like, and it becomes very curated to the person.
Sooo watching a 12 year old boy’s TikTok is going to show you what that 12 year old boy likes.

For me, I struggled to get into it at first but then my feed on there started to mirror a lot of what I see on YouTube, esp now that YouTube Shorts is a thing. The app really is what people make of it. People will say there's stupid videos on there etc but that's literally the case with any social media.

The only real issue is it being in close association with the Chinese gov but at the end of the day I don't really care about that.

I have never even used it. The nephew uses it all the time and tries to show me videos, but I don't want to lose any more brain cells.

I have an account there but never use it!
