That Is It

I've been feeling increasingly anxious these last few days, with the realization that this is all that there is to life. Things won't get any better, I'm not getting any younger, any healthier, any wealthier... The bucket list will remain unfulfilled. I'll never get a chance to visit those wonderful places, travel the world. I'll never have money or time for the hobbies I longed for all my life, like sailing or skiing. No, it will be work, work, work with no holidays, living with my lonely self (because I have social anxiety and will never go out of my way to socialize... been there done that...), all so I can pay my bills and taxes, until I drop dead.

It’s easy retreating into a’safe’ life.
After all, if life becomes about dealing with the simple things, there’s no reason to push yourself for ‘better’.

I can understand that. Been doing that for far too long myself !

All this stuff is compounded of course by the environment you’re in.
If you’re surrounded by people; jobs; housing etc. that enables this kind of thinking it merely serves to make you feel ‘content’ in your. ‘misery’.

So. In order to get out of it, you’re going to have to challenge yourself to risk change ! 😱

Can you ski ? If not, why not do some research on where you can get some lessons ??
Can’t be that difficult.
And if you can ski, isn’t that motivation enough to make an effort to go somewhere and do it ??
Same with the sailing.
It might require a different way of living life, but would that really be such a big deal ? Given the potential benefit it might have ?

Summer’s not that far away. Wouldn’t this be the ideal opportunity to plan how you get there and get what you need to do to make it happen ??
After all, these are merely interests.
Fun things to fill your time and give you a sense of accomplishment.
There are plenty of people out there who have trouble getting motivated to get out of bed !
So you’re already one up on them !

@Picklebobble2 Thank you PickleB... Money is always an obstacle... Ski and sailing are not cheap hobbies, I can't justify spending money I may need for later just to indulge in a hobby. It doesn't feel right, to the point I would not enjoy it...
