I’ve become so antisocial…or perhaps it’s the heat ?
It’s finally starting to cool down, sort of, but it’s still humid and muggy. Some new neighbors were throwing a birthday party, with about 20 LOUD guests. My friend, the retired cop, asked if I wanted to go, I thanked him, but I didn’t. I’ve been soaking in the shower, drinking iced drinks and listening to Greek music.
Periodically the neighbors’ guests are wandering around inside the building "because it’s so interesting". The party’s being held out back, so there’s less noise when they’re back there. 😳
I really want them to go home. They sang Happy Birthday, several of them sound rather tipsy; what’s left ?
Being around a bunch of drunk people never appealed to me. They violated the people's space ,living in the apartment building ,by going in there. I am a little bit antisocial ,but I don't think not wanting to have your apartment shook and people violating your privacy as antisocial.
I don't think it's either. I don't know a whole lot of people, unless they're early 20 something's, that want to be a part of some obnoxiously loud party drinking kegs and stuff. It just isn't your scene and that's okay!
You have a right to be antisocial (if you are, in fact, antisocial) and not participate in something like that. In any case, that party doesn't sound like fun to me and I'm sure I'd be with you in wanting the guests to go home. I happen to be antisocial, though. 😅
@bookerdana As long as they were out back, I wasn’t hearing them. Those who wandered in, "look at that staircase" and then coming up to my floor, "How old is this building ? Where does that door lead ?"
I'm a bit like you, but I don't classify myself as antisocial. I'm totally convinced that many partygoers have limited brain cells and can't be near as interesting as I am😁
